The authors tries to campaign for the conservation of animals , especially snakes through this poem SUMMARY In this poem,the snake has been descried as an innocent creature which wants to save its life from humans. The ways and means humans use to kill the snake are referred to as "the pursuing stick". T he shapes and sudden curving of the snake are beautiful and graceful. It glides through water away from the stroke. The green, small snake doesn't cause any injury even to kids and toddlers. The author request people to let the harmless snake go into the reeds to protect itself from attackers. The snake lies along the sand till it is observed. As soon people watch it, it is chased away and it hides in ripples among the green slim reed
